Principles
1. Purchasing competitive materials, equipments, and services
We seek reliable suppliers for raw materials, packaging materials, technical equipments and construction services worldwide in order to provide valuable products and to maintain a sustainable competitive advantage.

2. Openness and fairness
We always entertain proposals from current and potential suppliers in Japan and abroad with fair and comprehensive evaluation of various factors. Prospective suppliers are evaluated based on cost competitiveness, technological capabilities and corporate philosophy.

3. Partnerships and mutually beneficial relationships
We recognize that suppliers play a pivotal role in our company's operations. To that end, we wish to establish a healthy and mutually beneficial working relationship on the basis of mutual trust with our suppliers.

Codes of Conduct
1. Compliance with laws and regulations
We recognize the importance of CSR (corporate social responsibility) efforts and ethical considerations, and comply with all laws, regulations and social standards in implementing our every day purchasing activities.

2. Fairness, impartiality and transparency in decision-making processes
We conduct purchasing activities in a fair and impartial manner. We are aware of the importance of accountability for our evaluation processes, the results and of properly disclosing relevant information.

3. Clear distinction between private and business relationship
In the light of our code of professional ethics, we make a clear distinction between personal and business interests. We make sure individual concerns or relationships do not affect business decisions and that inappropriate relationships with suppliers or service providers are not allowed by any means.

Requests for Suppliers
We believe that CSR efforts by our suppliers are indispensable to establishing sustainable win-win partnerships between the vendors and us. For that reason, we request that our suppliers comply with and implement the following items.

1. Compliance with laws, regulations and social norms
We request each of the suppliers to comply with the following items as well as with respective laws, regulations and social standards both home and abroad.
  i) Compliance with laws and regulations concerning manufacturing and distribution of raw materials and technical equipments.
  ii) Compliance with laws and regulations concerning labor, health and safety, and development of proper working environment.
  iii) Prohibition of racial and sexual discrimination and respect for the dignity of each employee.
  iv) Prohibition of bribery and unfair proceeding
  v) Compliance with environmental laws and regulations

2. Promoting sound business management
We request suppliers to maintain healthy, transparent operations and to disclose management information in an appropriate timing and fashion in order to build sustainable relationships of mutual trust.

3. Consideration for environmental issues
We request suppliers to pursue positive actions concerning the conservation of the environment and to conduct business and develop products in an environmentally conscious way. We also expect suppliers to provide raw materials and technical equipments that agree with our Green purchasing activities.

4. Nondisclosure of confidential information
We request suppliers to strictly control any information obtained through business transactions and to not disclose such information to third parties without our consent.
