On Returning Part of Remuneration by Officers
Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation
In the fire broke out at the No.2 Ethylene Plant of the Kashima Plant at around 11:31 am (Japan Time) on December 21, four employees from associate companies died.

We pray for the souls of the deceased employees in the fire accident, and extend our heartfelt sympathy to their bereaved families.

We also sincerely apologize for causing so much trouble to all who had been affected including neighboring residents.

We are devoting all our efforts to investigate the cause and prevent a recurrence, under the direction of related government agencies.

Officers have taken this situation seriously, and President Kobayashi, Members of the Board, Managing Executive Officers, and Executive Officers involved have decided to return part of remuneration. In the course of elucidating the cause of the accident, we will make decisions how to take disciplinary actions and others.
