Restarting Operations of the Ethylene Production Facility at the Mizushima Plant
Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation
This is to announce that, on January 12, Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Yoshimitsu Kobayashi) has restarted operations of the ethylene production facility at the Mizushima Plant (Location: Kurashiki-shi, Okayama; General Manager: Yasuhide Ishikawa) that was shut down to repair a part of the facility on December 30, 2008.

Mizushima Plant: 450,000 tons/year 
Kashima Plant (No. 1 ethylene production facility): 375,000 tons/year 
Kashima Plant (No. 2 ethylene production facility): 476,000 tons/year* 
Total: 1,301,000 tons/year 
* The production capacity including 208 cracking furnace.
The production capacity excluding 208 cracking furnace is 453,000 tons/year.
