Styrene(base)Thermoplastic Elastomer“RABALON™”

RABALON™ is a styrene-based thermoplastic elastomer with properties similar to rubber. Styrene rubber (SBC) is used as the base polymer. It has been used in a wide range of applications including automotive gaskets, moldings, and tubes as well as consumer electronics hoses and bumpers. There is also a grade suitable for medical applications that has been used for syringe gaskets and medical tubing.

Olefin(base)Thermoplastic Elastomer“THERMORUN™”

THERMORUN™ is a thermoplastic elastomer made up of an olefin thermoplastic matrix and a finely-dispersed olefin rubber domain. A wide range of hardness, including low hardness, is available. The elasticity is excellent for seals. For these reasons, THERMORUN™ is widely used for air bag covers, weather strips, various protectors, hoses, molded parts, packing, auto parts, household appliance parts, and common industrial components.

Polyolefin(base)Adhesive Resin“MODIC™”

By incorporating a polar group into the polyolefin, a capability for adhesion between different materials was created, thus making this adhesive resin. It firmly adheres to polyamide, EVOH, polyester, metal, polyolefin, etc. It is used as an adhesion layer in multilayer films and multilayer plastic bottles, etc. In addition it is used as a compatibilizer to facilitate the blending of polyolefins and other plastics.

Polyvinyl Chloride Resin “VINIKA™”

VINIKA™ is a vinyl chloride resin compound with many strong points that are characteristic of vinyl chloride including a wide range of hardness, ease of forming, ease of coloring, oil resistance, chemical resistance, weather resistance, electrical insulation performance, and good ozone resistance. It is used in many fields and applications including automotive parts, home appliance parts, electrical insulation, as well as residential and building materials.

Polyvinyl Chloride(base)Thermoplastic Elastomer “SUNPRENE™”

SUNPRENE™ is a vinyl chloride-based thermoplastic elastomer in which much-desired rubber-like elasticity has been engineered into the versatile soft polyvinyl chloride while maintaining the good workability of a soft polyvinyl chloride compound. Thus SUNPRENE™ adds outstanding rubber elasticity to the strong points of vinyl chloride resin: wide range of hardness, good molding, good coloring, oil resistance, chemical resistance, weather resistance, good electrical insulation properties, and ozone resistance. SUNPRENE™ is used in many fields and applications including automotive parts, home appliance parts, electrical insulation, as well as residential and building materials.

Polyvinyl Chloride(base)Thermoplastic Elastomer “SUNFROST™”

SUNFROST™ is a vinyl chloride-based thermoplastic elastomer that is specially formulated to have a nice matte surface finish with a good texture that is pleasant to see and touch. Of course the strong points of vinyl chloride resin are retained: wide range of hardness, good molding characteristics, good coloring, oil resistance, chemical resistance, weather resistance, good electrical insulation properties, and ozone resistance. When surface aesthetics are important, SUNFROST™ is used in applications including automotive parts, home appliance parts, electrical insulation, as well as residential and building materials.

Biodegradable Polymer“GS Pla™”

GS Pla™ has been developed and sold taking advantage of the biodegradable feature, and practical use is progressing to materials for agriculture, such as a biodegradable mulching film, as well as the material of disposable food utensils, etc. The tableware using GS Pla™ was used in the athletes' dormitories at the Vancouver Winter Olympics held in Canada in 2010. Furthermore, Thailand's Ko Samet resort island in July 2010 started to use GS Pla™ garbage bags as part of a garbage composting program. Now, a program is underway to convert one of the raw materials for GS Pla™, succinic acid, from petroleum origination to biomass origination.

New Bio-based Engineering Plastic“DURABIO™”

DURABIO™ is a biopolycarbonate resin derived mainly from plant-based isosorbide. Compared with conventional polycarbonate resin (hereafter abbreviated PC resin) made from bisphenol A (hereafter abbreviated BPA), DURABIO™ features high transparency, excellent optical properties, and outstanding scratch resistance. Its puncture impact behaviour are comparable to those for PC resin.

DURABIO™ is a plant-derived polymer but is not biodegradable. It has excellent durability, making possible its deployment in a wide variety of applications such as for optical ・energy related components, a substitute for high-performance glass components, as well as for electronic equipment ・ automotive housings ・ interior and exterior decor.
