Polyolefin(base)Adhesive Resin“MODIC™”

By incorporating a polar group into the polyolefin, a capability for adhesion between different materials was created, thus making this adhesive resin. It firmly adheres to polyamide, EVOH, polyester, metal, polyolefin, etc. It is used as an adhesion layer in multilayer films and multilayer plastic bottles, etc. In addition it is used as a compatibilizer to facilitate the blending of polyolefins and other plastics.

Easy Peeling Resin“VMX™”

VMX™ is a polymer alloy created by chemically modifying a polyolefin with a polymerizable vinyl monomer. The resulting modified material has adhesive properties and is known as Easy Peeling resin. It can also be used to modify other materials. When Easy Peel sealant resin is used for an extruded laminate, a smooth separation and a clean separation surface result. Over a wide range of heat-seal temperatures, peel strength is stable.

Polyvinyl Chloride(base)Thermoplastic Elastomer “SUNPRENE™”

SUNPRENE™ is a vinyl chloride-based thermoplastic elastomer in which much-desired rubber-like elasticity has been engineered into the versatile soft polyvinyl chloride while maintaining the good workability of a soft polyvinyl chloride compound. Thus SUNPRENE™ adds outstanding rubber elasticity to the strong points of vinyl chloride resin: wide range of hardness, good molding, good coloring, oil resistance, chemical resistance, weather resistance, good electrical insulation properties, and ozone resistance. SUNPRENE™ is used in many fields and applications including automotive parts, home appliance parts, electrical insulation, as well as residential and building materials.

Polyvinyl Chloride(base)Thermoplastic Elastomer “SUNFROST™”

SUNFROST™ is a vinyl chloride-based thermoplastic elastomer that is specially formulated to have a nice matte surface finish with a good texture that is pleasant to see and touch. Of course the strong points of vinyl chloride resin are retained: wide range of hardness, good molding characteristics, good coloring, oil resistance, chemical resistance, weather resistance, good electrical insulation properties, and ozone resistance. When surface aesthetics are important, SUNFROST™ is used in applications including automotive parts, home appliance parts, electrical insulation, as well as residential and building materials.

Biodegradable Polymer“GS Pla™”

GS Pla® has been developed and sold taking advantage of the biodegradable feature, and practical use is progressing to materials for agriculture, such as a biodegradable mulching film, as well as the material of disposable food utensils, etc. The tableware using GS Pla® was used in the athletes' dormitories at the Vancouver Winter Olympics held in Canada in 2010. Furthermore, Thailand's Ko Samet resort island in July 2010 started to use GS Pla® garbage bags as part of a garbage composting program. Now, a program is underway to convert one of the raw materials for GS Pla®, succinic acid, from petroleum origination to biomass origination.

Strongly Acidic Cation Exchange Resins“DIAION™ sereies”

The strongly acidic cation exchange resins are bead-like products which have a sulfonic acid group in the cross-linked styrene frame. They can be used across the full pH range (0-14), and are relatively stable to temperature, even withstanding high temperatures of 100-120℃. They are used in a wide variety of fields including water purification, water softening, wastewater treatment, purification of pharmaceuticals and food, and catalysis.

Weakly Acidic Cation Exchange Resins“DIAION™ series”

The weakly acidic cation exchange resins have the carboxylic acid group (-COOH) as the exchange group. There are two kinds --- a methacrylic acid type and an acrylic acid type. The acrylic acid weakly acidic cation exchange resin is used for processing water with high carbonate hardness. The methacrylic acid type is used for purification of antibiotics and amino acids.

Storngly Basic Anion Exchange Resins“DIAION™ series”

An amino functional group is incorporated into the anion exchange resin enabling the exchange of anions like the Cl- ion and the SO4-- ion. Strongly basic anion exchange resins and weakly basic anion exchange resins can be defined according to the basic strength of the amino functional group.
The ion exchange resin that has a quaternary ammonium group is strongly alkaline and dissociates just like NaOH and KOH. Therefore it is called a strongly basic anion exchange resin.

Weakly Basic Anion Exchange Resins“DIAION™ series”

The weakly basic anion exchange resins use either a polystyrene or polyacrylic ester frame and a primary-ternary amino group as the functional group. Although the anion of a salt like NaCl or Na2SO4 cannot be exchanged, the exchange of an anion of a mineral acid such as HCl and H2SO4, or the salt of a weak base like NH44Cl can be carried out.

Novel Amphoteric Ion Exchange Resins“DIAION™ series”

DIAION™ AMP03 is an amphoteric ion exchange resin in which a quatenary ammonium group and a carboxy group are incorporated on a cross-linked polystyrene frame. Because the beads are 260µm and uniform size, elution peaks are sharp for separations of electrolyte and non-electrolyte or separations among electrolytes (sodium chloride, sodium sulfate, etc.)
