MCC engineers were all impressed by the students' strong desire to solve problems in their research activities, and praised the students and the program with such comments as 'We were very impressed by their analytical attitude, especially their ability to grasp problems without preconceptions', and 'The exercise was very useful as a model for understanding certain phenomena'. We feel the results of this Practice School will be very useful in helping to develop our future programs. Participating students had many favorable comments. Among them, one MIT student noted that, 'Working together with students from Kyoto University was a very worthwhile experience', while one of the Japanese students enthused, 'By working side by side with MIT students we greatly improved our communication skills'.
